Seascape Residence
Seascape Road Residence is the refurbishment and extension of a character 1920s Remuera home, designed to retain the qualities of the existing residence while creating a generous and flexible home suited to contemporary living.
Working with the existing building, the design focused on where considered changes could add the greatest value. Living areas were reconfigured to improve circulation, natural light and connection to the outdoors, while a new expansive deck extends the living spaces and takes advantage of the property’s outlook.
The six-bedroom layout provides flexibility for a range of households, including growing, blended and multigenerational families. The transformation also extended to the front of the property, with comprehensive landscaping strengthening the relationship between the house, entry and street and enhancing the presentation of the home.
Throughout the project, new interventions were carefully integrated with the original architecture, retaining the character and warmth of the 1920s residence while improving its functionality and amenity.
The completed refurbishment brings together the existing home, new additions and landscape as a cohesive response, maximising the potential of the property and creating a renewed character home with broad appeal and long-term value.
